    • 1). Fill out a Notice of Appeal form with your attorney. Write down the name of every trustee, attorney and other party to the bankruptcy, including their contact information. Complete the form in its entirety.

    • 2). Make two copies of the appeal.

    • 3). Bring the two copies of the appeal and the filing fee to the bankruptcy office. It must be turned in within 14 days after the day the dismissed judgment was entered on the docket. Your assets will not be seized until after the new bankruptcy hearing.

    • 4). Speak to the lender who can repossess your car. Express a desire to make a mutually agreeable deal that leaves them with the money and you with the car.

    • 5). Offer to create a payment plan or attend credit counseling. Credit counseling is not mandatory; the lender must agree to attend and be willing to accept the arrangement determined by the counselor.
