How to Make an Artificial Wedding Bouquet
- 1). Gather your flowers and remove any leaves from the lower half of the stems with wire cutters.
- 2). Arrange your flowers in the vase. Position the larger flowers in the vase first and then add the smaller accent flowers evenly throughout the bouquet. Create a rounded shape with the longer flower in the middle and shorter ones around the edges.
- 3). Arrange your greenery around the edge of the bouquet, slightly lower than the bottom line of the bouquet.
- 4). Grasp the bouquet carefully once you have it the way you want it, and lift it out of the vase. Secure the stems of the bouquet in one or two place with rubber bands.
- 5). Trim the stems of the bouquet and the greenery with the wire cutters, until the stems are the same length. Leave the stems 6 to 8 inches below the floral part of the bouquet to give yourself enough room to hold it when you walk down the aisle.
- 6). Wrap the florist's tape securely around the stems on a diagonal basis; begin at the top of the stems, just below the blooms, and work your way down to the bottom of the bouquet. Wrap the tape around a few extra times at the bottom to secure your flowers and cover any protruding wires. Cut the tape from the roll.
- 7). Wrap your ribbon around the stems and tie it into a bow. Secure it to the stem of your bouquet with one or two decorative corsage pins.
