Are German Shepherds Aggressive?

103 3
What people don't realize is that dogs are far more similar to people than they think.
Just because they are not able to speak it doesn't mean that they cannot feel and although most of us know on a very general level that dogs have feelings, it really does not strike us.
For example most of us will not differentiate between the way a dog feels and the way a cow feels, or a chicken feels.
All animals have feelings but some are closer to the way humans feel and one such animal is the dog.
No dog is aggressive by nature.
Dogs are not crazy man eating creatures.
Especially the German Shepherd because it has too much sense to behave in such a manner.
They will respond aggressively if the situation demands it but will not be an indiscriminate biter.
If you actually think about it a little even human beings are the same.
Most of the time people are normal, but when they detect a threat they will respond aggressively.
Some people of course will respond with flight but let us disregard them.
The German shepherd has a very confident and aloof temperament with strangers.
If you are accustomed to a Lab or a Beagle you will not understand that the German Shepherd does not mean you any harm.
It just watches you the way it watches everybody, it is as natural as breathing for the dog.
Many people mistake this watchfulness for aggressiveness because they think that the dog is just waiting to attack them.
It is just misconception.
The German Shepherd is a very kind and gentle dog that has a bad name because of bad owners.
They have a very high protective instinct and one of the reasons that people get the breed is because of this.
Once they get it is not possible to turn this instinct on and off whenever they want to like a burglar alarm and so they tend to keep the dog cooped up indoors.
This only makes the dog more irritable and aggressive.
Imagine if you were kept cooped inside a room and taken out for a 15 minute walk daily with a leash round your neck and you will realize why they feel that way.
