How to Set Water Pump Switch
- 1). Loosen the holding nut below the pressure switch using an adjustable wrench, then insert a flathead screwdriver into the adjustment slot of the pressure switch above the holding nut.
- 2). Turn the screwdriver in the slot either clockwise (to decrease pressure) or counter-clockwise (to increase pressure) to adjust the switch to 40 foot-pounds of pressure, while monitoring the pressure gauge above the pressure switch. Check your water pump manufacturer's specifications for the exact pressure setting, although 40 foot-pounds of pressure is standard for most pumps.
- 3). Cease turning the screwdriver when the gauge reads 40 foot-pounds of pressure, then refasten the holding nut.
