Patio bars are great places to get together with friends or lovers on a pleasant evening and enjoy the fresh air. Arizona is home to dozens of patio bars that offer cocktails and bar food for all sorts of occasions. Many of these patio bars also feature live music on certain nights and others offer great views of the surrounding city or natural scenery. - Dos Gringos offers four different locations in the greater Pheonix metro area, all of which have patio bars. The bar received the AZCentral.com 2010 Reader's Poll award for Best Bar Patio. Dos Gringos offers a wide range of food and drink specials, including half-priced Coronas during Happy Hour (Monday through Friday 4 to 6 p.m.), Taco Tuesdays with Tex-Mex tacos for a buck, and deeply discounted Bloody Marys between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays. Don't miss Dos Gringos' "Sunday Funday Patio Party" with live DJ music.
- Kiley's Grill in Chandler, Arizona has a spacious patio bar and features live music performances every weekend. The bar offers appetizer specials and inexpensive domestic beers during happy hour. Kiley's Grill also serves more than 100 different Skyy Vodka martinis in flavors like apple, cherry pie, mocha blanca and peppermint. The food menu features a selection of gourmet burgers, starters, soups, salads and steaks. The bar hosts lots of special events like Oktoberfest and Superbowl Sunday; and features live music every weekend.
- Located within the Radission Hotel in downtown Houston, Breeze Patio Bar & Grill offers a daily happy hour from 4 to 7 p.m. that features discounted beers and a wide range of appetizers at half price. Breeze's patio bar fills up mostly with hotel guests, according to Metromix.com, and offers a casual, upscale atmosphere.
The patio is also open during the day and serves breakfast, lunch and dinner, along with buffets and specials. You'll find a wide range of beverages to choose from on Breeze's extensive wine and cocktail list. - Chealsea's Kitchen offers, "gorgeous light-wood decking, tiered planters filled with vines and bright flowers, and a view of the canal and all the lush greenery surrounding it," according to AZCentral.com. Choose from the bar's extensive wine list, which includes selections from California, Italy, France and Portugal. You can also sip on Chelsea's "ridiculous signature recipe" white sangria or a prickly pair margarita. Expect a fashionable, mostly over 25 crowd.
