Eligibility Requirements
In order to quality for this Start-up Visa program, applicants must:
Have completed at least 1 year of post-secondary education.
Have enough funds for business immigration to Canada Have received a letter of support from an organization designated by the Canadian government.
Meet language requirements in either English or French;Pass Canadian medical and security clearances.
Under this program, at least CAD$200,000 have to be invested by a successful applicant, unless they come from an angel investor group, in which case just CAD$75,000 have to be invested.
Self-Employed Persons Program
This program is open to foreign nationals who have prior self-employed experience as artists, athletes, or farmers. To qualify for immigration to Canada under this program, applicants have to demonstrate that they possess relevant artistic or athletic experience, so that they will be able to become self-employed and contribute to Canada's cultural and sporting life.
Relevant experience comprises of at least 2 years of experience of participation in art, recreation, or sports activities on a world class level, or of self-employment. Having at least 2 years of experience in managing a farm is a must for applicants who want to buy a farm. Assessment of applicants also includes their adaptability, age, education, English/French language ability, and experience.
