Fishing involves more than simply throwing a baited hook into the water and calling it good.
It also involves more than casting a lure into the water and reeling it in.
I'm personally not a fly fisherman (or flea flicker as my mentor used to say) but I love the movie A River Runs Through It.
In this movie, the reverend Mclean is said to have said, "if he had his way anyone who did not know how to catch a fish would be able to disgrace that fish by catching it.
" I couldn't agree more with this amazing sentiment.
So, let's get down to the trout fishing tips that will help you no not disgrace any trout.
I wish I would have had these tips as a beginner.
They would have saved me a ton of trial and error, and caught me a lot more trout.

- Use Light Line - Many beginning trout anglers have a tendency to use fishing line that's much too heavy.
This is a big mistake.
When trout fishing no fishing line heavier than six-pound test should be employed.
I personally suggest four-pound test, but six-pound is passable.
The bottom line is that the heavier your line is the more likely the trout are to see it, and you can imagine what happens if the trout see your line, right? Yep, the will tend not to bite! - Watch Your Shadow - Few things will "spook" trout like a human shadow being cast on the water they reside in.
So you always want to pay attention to where your shadow is being cast.
Never cast your own shadow on the water that you're trying to fish.
If you "spook" an area it can take up to three hours to "get back to normal".
- Always Use Gang Hooks - When it comes to trout fishing tips this one is very important.
Gang hooks allow you to present worms (live or synthetic) in a completely lifelike manner.
The more lifelike you're your worm appears to the trout; the more likely they are to bite it.
This is what gang hooks bring to the table.
The ability for you bait to appear as lifelike as possible. - Learn The Laws Of Nature - Of all the trout fishing tips in this article, this could be the most important.
When I say the 'laws of nature' I'm referring specifically to the weather and moon.
These two forces of Mother Nature have as much to do with trout biting as your bait or lure.
Learning the simple ways that the weather and moon impact fishing will be extremely valuable to any angler.
I wish I would have had these tips as a beginner.
They would have saved me a ton of trial and error, and caught me a lot more trout.
