Golf carts can often be very dangerous, if not properly handled.
They are open vehicles and hence a small accident can be injurious.

Overturning is a major problem associated with Golf Carts.
It is due to the larger weight of the passenger when compared with the weight of cart.
Make sure that the passengers are properly seated while the cart is moving.
Never overload the cart.
Do not put your hands, legs or any other part of the body outside the card as it can be dangerous.
Carts do not have an enclosure and so the parts protruding out of the cart can be hit by stationery objects outside the cart.
Over speed of the cart is also a reason for accidents.
There is a speed limit which the Golf cart should follow in order to avoid accidents.
If the cart is commuting a straight path, speed is not an issue.
But if you are commuting a path with curves, then speed limit should be strictly maintained.
Turning the carts while travelling at high speeds can overturn the vehicle.
If the weather is bad then it is advised that you drive the cart very slowly.
The tires are more prone to slip while braking, if the road is wet.
Golf Carts are small vehicles and so most of the people under estimate it.
They assume the vehicles to be easily controllable and so often tend to disobey the traffic rules and regulations.
This can often end in misery.
The person who is driving the cart should possess valid driving license.
The Golf Cart should possess red reflecting tapes at the front and back and if possible fit a headlamp for enhanced safety.
Always park the cart with the gear in the neutral or parking gear.
Remove the key and make sure the vehicle is off.
When you start the vehicle again, make sure the gear is in neutral.
Some feel that Golf Carts can be driven easily by children under the age of 18.
But this is restricted and violation of the law can be serious offense.
It needs much improved understanding about driving in order to handle the vehicle properly.
