In this kind of surgery more numbing medications and large incision are required to be applied around the eye. Through the surgery, the doctor basically places an artificial lens in the capsular bag. For the purpose, various sutures are used to close the large eye wound. Intracapsular Surgery: This kind of cataract surgery is rarely used now days, it has become obsolete. This surgery causes wound even larger than the Extracapsular Surgery, because in this surgery, the doctor not just remove the entire eye lens but also removes the capsule that surrounds the lens. As accepted, the recovery is slower and the patient required to on heavy numbing medications.
