When getting a gift certificate, think about what your hostess likes to do. • Put together a gift basket for your shower hostess. She has put a lot of time and effort into the planning and execution of the shower and would probably really enjoy receiving a basket full of personal pampering items. Bubble bath, body lotion, slippers and a few candles will go a long way to giving her a relaxing evening. • Jewelry is a nice touch for a hostess gift, especially if you know the hostess well. Keep in mind her tastes when picking something out. Bracelets, necklaces and earrings are always nice; if you stick with costume jewelry, you can purchase more pieces for the same prices as the real thing.

• Flowers are always a nice touch to give as a gift, especially if you are strapped for cash. Be sure to give her an arrangement that is already in a vase or container, instead of just a bouquet wrapped in plastic. The hostess can put them out at the shower to display. If you have a larger amount of money to spend, consider getting her a subscription to receive flowers every month. She will think of you fondly each time they arrive.
