How to Enjoy a Snow Day From Work

    • 1). Wear your pajamas. Keep those fuzzy slippers on a little longer, and start your day in your pajamas. If you must complete some work at home during the snow day, do it with comfort. The boss will never know you finished that report or sent those emails in your pajamas.

    • 2). Treat yourself to a relaxing morning. Soak in the bathtub, rather than speeding through a shower. Enjoy a cup of coffee in an oversized mug, rather than your usual travel mug. Take time to read the newspaper, watch some TV or make a personal phone call. Eat a balanced breakfast.

    • 3). Do something you wouldn’t ordinarily do on a workday. Catch up on a home project. Finish a craft project. Try that new recipe that has been collecting dust. Search for non-work related things on the Internet. Use the time to get ahead on a fun activity that usually takes a backseat to your work responsibilities.

    • 4). Eat a special meal. Since time isn’t restricted today, take the time to prepare a nice lunch or supper. Make homemade rolls. Bake dessert. Use a crockpot to enjoy the smells of your cooking all day long. Or, if cooking isn’t your thing, call the local food delivery services and see who is still delivering. Tip them well for their services.

    • 5). Spend time with your children. Do snow day activities. Build a snowman if the weather isn’t too cold and windy. Draw pictures of winter scenes. Play board games. Bake cookies. Watch movies with winter themes.

    • 6). Spoil your pets. Spend extra time playing with your pets. Dig out toys they like to play with. Give them treats. If they are caged animals, let them exercise out of their cage.

    • 7). Get extra rest. It’s not often that we can take a nap, sleep in or go to bed early. Catch up on your rest, so you feel rejuvenated when you go back to work.
