Basic Meditation
Meditation is always a good thing to do.
It helps to relieve stress and become relaxed and focused.
You can meditate anywhere, at home or in the office, just so long as you are somewhere where no one can disturb you and quite in need be.
You can use all sorts of stuff to help you meditate, a dark room is always good, and it helps to concentrate when it's dark or dull lighting.
You can have candles lit, incense burning, as the smell can help relax you and if you like some soft calming music, but make sure there are no lyrics to the music or you will end up signing along in your head instead of meditating.
If you are just starting out, and trying to learn how to meditate or you always have trouble clearing you mind of all thoughts, a good thing to do is start from your feet and work you way up your body slowly relaxing each part of you.
Then once relaxed concentrate on your breathing, you will find that this helps.
Breathing is one of the most important parts of mediation, but make sure that they are long deep breaths and relax more and more with each one.
Always make sure that you inform someone that you are to be left alone when you are going to meditate as it can be dangerous if someone startles you suddenly.
Take the phone off the hook, turn the TV off or down and don't meditate while there are children around, you will never get piece and quite when there is children, what till they are in bed or at school to meditate.
Visualization is also good when you meditate; you can place yourself anywhere you would like to be, such as a deserted island, a beach, a forest or even running through fields full of your favorite flowers.
If you are new to visualization, do not force it.
Start small such as a white light, start with it being a tiny dot and see it growing bigger and bigger.
Then once you get the hang of that you can start visualizing other stuff and before long you will be laying back on a palm tree, on a tropical island looking at crystal clear blue river with a water fall and reading your favorite book.
