If you enjoy decorating for Halloween but do not want to go overboard then try decorating with pretty pumpkins this year!

Pumpkins make the perfect display for Halloween time because they represent the Fall and can be carved easily to create whatever you can imagine. This project consists of painting pumpkins so there is no messy carving required!

First, you will need around six pumpkins or more if you can handle it. The more pumpkins you have the better chance you have of creating a cute pumpkin patch in your back yard.

You will need paints in whatever colors you like, paintbrushes, glitter (gold and silver), glue and anything else that you would like to decorate your pumpkins with.

Begin by placing some newspaper on a table to protect it and then lay you pumpkins on top to start decorating. This can be a fun project to do with the kids or younger family members too, so be sure to get them involved as well.

You can give each of the children a pumpkin to paint to keep them occupied and they will enjoy it.

This is the perfect time to create whatever you would like on your pumpkin; you can paint gold polka dots onto a white pumpkin or silver onto a white or orange one! Use the glitter you purchased to sprinkle some onto the tops of the pumpkins to add some flair and jazz them up. They will also stand out more in the display.

If you are not sure what to do with your pumpkin then look through some holiday magazines for inspiration. You can also browse through some books, magazines or online website for some whimsical designs to copy onto your pumpkin.

Create an easy stencil by printing out a copy of a design you like, cut it out and then transfer it onto your pumpkin! This is a very simple way to create beautiful designs and you will have a great time doing it.

When you are done display all your pumpkins outside under a dry area. Buy a bale of hay and place your pumpkins on top for an even cuter look.
