Redneck Theme Party Ideas

If a party is all about letting loose and having fun, then a redneck-themed party will work wonders. Celebrate rural culture and have a chuckle, putting a redneck twist on all of your party elements. Achieve a real down-home vibe and throw a redneck-themed party that would make Jeff Foxworthy proud. - You can still serve hors d'ouevres at a redneck themed party, albeit in slightly different forms or names than you might normally offer. Go the roadkill route and prepare some normal finger foods, but give each appetizer a disgusting name. For example, make some guacamole dip and call it "Squirrel Dip." Or you can be brave and offer real possum meat with your cornbread. You can also serve junk-food and prepare it as if it were a formal dish. For example, offer a cheese tray with processed cheese spread and cheap beer in wine glasses.
- Skip the formal wear at your redneck-themed party and encourage guests to dress super-casually, whether or not this actually entails wearing a shirt. Overalls, flannel, trucker hats and Confederate flag prints and such are acceptable forms of dress at a redneck-themed party. Guests can wear clothing that signifies stereotypical redneck interests, such as neon orange hunting gear or NASCAR apparel.
- Create an authentic redneck experience and have everyone sit around, watch TV and listen to music. Hillbilly music of rural America, particularly of Appalachia, eventually became known as country music, the music of choice for rednecks. Play some country/hillbilly influenced music at your redneck-themed party to make it an authentic backwoods experience. Artists such as Charlie Daniels, Lynyrd Skynyrd and David Allan Coe will work. Turn on the TV and take in some traditional redneck entertainment. Put on shows like "Hee-Haw" and "Grand Ole Opry." For the truly redneck experience, watch some NASCAR.
