How to Carve a Throw Up Pumpkin

    • 1). Place the pumpkin where you'd like it to be displayed, or put newspaper underneath your project so the pumpkin can be moved later. Once you've finished the carving, it will be difficult to move the pumpkin. Cut a large circle around the stem of the pumpkin and remove the pumpkin's "lid". Set it aside for later.

    • 2). Reach into the pumpkin, and with your hands and a plastic scooping tool, remove roughly half of the guts of the pumpkin and set aside.

    • 3). Carve the pumpkin's face using a sharp kitchen knife or special carving implements that you can purchase at a retailer. A funny face for a vomiting pumpkin would usually have eyes that are slits and a huge, open mouth. However, you can make the eyes the way you want them, along with a mouth that is wide open.

    • 4). Reach into the pumpkin's mouth and pull out the remaining guts. This should look like the pumpkin is throwing up. Leave some of the guts actually coming out of the mouth and the rest pulled all the way out.

    • 5). Replace the top of the pumpkin. The vomiting pumpkin should now be ready for display.
