How to Divide the Bible With Tabs

    • 1). Purchase tabs. There are many companies that create tabs to divide the Bible into its various books. They are sticky and easy to apply to any Bible. You can also purchase simple removable sticky tabs and create your own dividers. This may be cheaper, but will take you longer and will not be as permanent.

    • 2). Write the names of the books on tabs. If you purchase tabs that are not pre-printed, use a fine-tipped permanent marker to write the name of each book on a separate tab. If the tabs are different colors, you may use one color for the Old Testament and another for the New Testament. You may also choose not to tab each book, but focus on the ones you read most (e.g., the Psalms, Proverbs or Gospels). Abbreviate names that are long. For example, use "1 Thess" to designate First Thessalonians and "Lev" to point to Leviticus. Write neatly.

    • 3). Attach the tabs. Go through the Bible from the beginning and attach the tabs to the first page of each book. Align them so that the tab for one book falls just below the tab from the previous book. Also line up the tabs so that the outer edges are even. This will give your Bible a neat appearance and allow you to see more than one tab at once.
