How to Remove Metal Polish
- 1). Add 4 drops of mild dish soap to 1 cup warm water.
- 2). Soak a clean cloth in the soapy water.
- 3). Wrap the cloth around the metal object or lay it over the object.
- 4). Let the cloth remain for three hours. Resoak the cloth as needed to keep it wet.
- 5). Remove the cloth and wipe off any remaining metal polish.
- 6). Remove metal polish in crevices with a toothbrush soaked in the soapy water.
- 7). Remove any metal polish that might be lodged in an area that is difficult to reach with the aid of a toothpick.
- 8). Hold the metal directly under the faucet to remove any other metal polish residue and to remove the soapy residue. The pressure from the faucet will dislodge any remaining metal polish.
- 9). Dry the metal completely with a clean cloth. Let it sit for one hour before storing it to ensure that the entire piece is completely dry.
