Zote Laundry Soap -  Product Review

Zote Laundry Soap is one of the leading laundry products in Mexico and it is now available in the United States. Zote is manufactured by Fábrica de Jabón la Corona, a Mexican company that produces household cleaning products and edible cooking oils.

Along with Zote, they export laundry detergents Roma, Foca and Blanca Nieves in liquid and powder formulas to the U.S.

Zote is available in single or double bar packs. While it comes in white, pink or blue, the formula and cleaning abilities are all the same. It seems that different areas of Mexico just favor different colors!

 

Product Ingredients

• Sodium tallowate (beef tallow)
• Sodium Cocoate (coconut oil)
• Fragrance (citronella oil)
• Optical Brighteners
• Dye (Pink and Blue Bars only)

Zote is recommended for hand-washing delicate items like lingerie and knitwear. It is safe on colors and all washable fabrics.

It can also be used to remove body oil and soil around collars and cuffs. As with Fels Naptha Soap, Zote can be grated to make homemade laundry detergent. Zote is actually offered in a grated form in some areas for ease of use.

I gave Zote a try on oily stains and it worked well. Before using on certain stains, check our stain removal chart to be sure that soap will not set the stain. While not effective on every type of stain, Zote should find a spot in your laundry room.
