Contrast in the Hajj and The Umrah

The Hajj and the Umrah are among the sacred duties of the Muslims, what they dreamed to undertake at least once in their life. As compared to the Hajj, Umrah is significantly less obligatory for the Muslims, yet undertaking the Umrah is highly appreciated as being the Sunnah of the Holy Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him. The religious importance of the Umrah cannot be overlooked in the Islam. The rites of the Hajj and the Umrah resembles to each other apparently, yet they are different also.  

Hajj is the binding on every able Muslim according to the teachings of the Islam, but the Umrah is not imperative as of the Hajj. The Hajj held annually on the 12th and the last month of the Islamic calendar. The month of Zill Hijjah is specially associated with the Hajj, whereas, there is no specified time for the Umrah performance.  

As compared to Hajj, the Umrah is less expensive and lengthy. The Pilgrim only needs a few hours to complete his Umrah, but the Hajj consist on the rites spreading on a few days. For performing the Hajj, pilgrim stays in Ahram for a single day, but for the Hajj, Ahram is  carried by the pilgrims went for the shaving of the head after the sacrifice.

There are many agents specifically dealing for the Hajj and Umrah, for the Muslims around the globe. They are responsible to arrange all the aspects of this precious expedition of the life of a Muslim. The place of the Ibrahim A.S is undoubtedly very high near the Allah, which he obtained by his lifetime efforts, started from his childhood, and spreading all over his life, a series of the incidents which raised his place due to his faith and sacrifice in the way of Allah. In the result of his confidence in Allah, He brought him closer to Him.

The rites of the Hajj, from the era of Ibrahim, were almost demolished and the pagans totally dismembered the soul of the Hajj. Then the prayer of the Prophet Ibrahim A.S was granted. A request to Allah,  which he made while raising the walls of the Kaaba, to send one, who can establish the rule of the Allah over the earth. And the Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, born in Makkah, after two and a half thousand years. In the time of about 21 years he completed the mission of purifying the Kaabah and establishing Allah's religion as the law of the land, and he again declared the Kaabah as the universal center for worshippers of the one True God.
