How to Replace a T-Type Halogen Bulb
- 1). Turn the light off at the electrical switch in the room. Give the bulb at least 30 minutes to cool before you try to change it.
- 2). Use a ladder if necessary to get to the bulb. If you are using a ladder or stepladder, make sure the unit is locked into place before you climb on it.
- 3). Use a pair of gloves to remove the small spring from the t-type halogen bulb. This can be removed with a pair of needle nose pliers, if needed.
- 4). Turn the old t-type halogen light bulb clockwise until you can feel the bulb getting loose in the fixture. Pull the t-type bulb out of the fixture.
- 5). Look on the side of the t-type halogen bulb and locate the 3-letter code printed on it. The 3-letter code is going to give you the model number you need for replacing the bulb.
- 6). Put the new t-type bulb into the fixture and turn it clockwise until you hear the metal spring click into place. Turn the light switch on to test the bulb.
