Battle for Wesnoth

• Battle for Wesnoth is a fantasy strategy game for Linux, Mac and Windows computers which is similar to games like Final Fantasy Tactics and Disgaea. The player controls a small army of units such as knights, goblins and centaurs and leads them in battles against others. The game is playable as a series of one-shot battles or over the course of a campaign with a role playing game (RPG) style story. As the battle proceeds, units level up and gain new abilities in a fashion similar to RPGs.
  
  

Urban Terror

• Urban Terror is a free and open source first person shooter (FPS) similar to the commercial game Counterstrike. Players choose between two teams, blue and red, and face off on a variety of maps and game modes. Supported modes include capture the flag, in which each team must retrieve the flag from the opposing base, and team death match, in which the first team to tally a certain number of points is the winner. Urban Terror describes itself as a "Hollywood Tactical Shooter," a game that leans toward realism, but nonetheless works under the motto "fun over realism."
  
  

UFO: Alien Invasion

• UFO: Alien Invasion is a free strategy game designed to mimic the feel of the classic PC game XCOM. Players control an elite and top-secret task force charged with protecting the Earth from alien invaders. Players lead a squad of commandos on missions to protect cities and farms from the inhabitants of landed or crashed UFOs.
  
  

Frets On Fire

• Frets on Fire is a rhythm game, similar to Guitar Hero, that is playable either with the keyboard or with a USB Guitar Hero controller. The player can either make his own levels using MP3s he legally owns or download levels using music that the artists permit to be used in this fashion. As game play progresses, colored bars move across the screen and the player must press the F1 to F5 keys on the keyboard in time with the music to score points.
