    • 1). Loosen the C-clamp of the negative battery cable from the negative terminal with a wrench and socket. Lift the cable from the terminal. Loosen the positive C-clamp from the positive terminal and remove that cable as well. Turn the wing nuts attaching the battery cage to the battery mount counterclockwise to remove them. Once the cage is free, lift the battery off the mount. Grind the 6-volt battery mount off of the frame of the engine bay. Weld the 12-volt battery mount to the engine bay in the same place. Cage the 12-volt battery to the new mount.

    • 2). Wrench the nut holding the positive battery cable to the generator and do the same for the wire running from the generator to the regulator. Unbolt the generator and remove it from the generator mount. Unthread the nuts holding the two wires to the regulator and unbolt the regulator from its mount. Grind the generator and regulator mounts off of the tractor's frame. Weld the 12-volt alternator/regulator mount to the frame in place of the generator mount.

    • 3). Attach the wire running from the coil to the terminal on the output side of the alternator. Attach the positive battery cable to the input terminal on the alternator. Slide the C-clamp of the positive battery cable over the positive terminal on the battery.

    • 4). Unthread the screws and pull the light casings off the light housings. Twist the 6-volt lightbulbs from the light assemblies by depressing them and giving them 1/4 turn. Remove the screws from the 6-volt light assemblies and replace them with 12-volt versions. Screw in the 12-volt bulbs and seat the light casings in the light housings.

    • 5). Slide the C-clamp of the negative battery cable over the negative terminal and tighten the C-clamp's bolt.
