How to Synchronize Files From a Cell
- 1). Find a cell phone SIM card reader. (See resources below.) These are small devices that you can plug into your computer with the phone's memory card. You can then download anything that you have on it, whether it's contacts, text messages, photographs or spread sheets.
- 2). Install the card reader software that comes with the device by inserting the CD-Rom into the drive and following the instructions on the screen.
- 3). Remove the SIM card from your phone by sliding the back cover off. Then you will need to remove the battery and lift up the metal gate containing the white rectangular-shaped card.
- 4). Insert the SIM card into the reader, and connect the device to the USB port on your computer.
- 5). Launch the software application by going to the "Start" menu. When it opens, it will find the card reading device.
- 6). To sync your cell phone to your computer, click on "File" and select "Synchronize Files." The software will create a folder for all your data, along with the date that it was backed up. To access your data, simply double click on the folder.
