How to Make a Felt Mask
- 1). Cut the piece of felt into a circle large enough to cover your face. Place the felt circle over your face with the side that will be the back of the mask facing away from you. Use a marker to mark the places where you will cut holes for the eyes and mouth.
- 2). Cut out a circle for each eye hole and a banana shape for the mouth to resemble a smile. If you want your mask to look sad, cut out an upside-down banana shape.
- 3). Cover a flat surface with newspaper and lay your mask face up on the surface.
- 4). Use the glue gun or paintbrush to apply glue to the mask in places you would like to attach decorations. If you would like to give your mask hair, cut pieces of yarn and glue them around the top edges of the mask. To create eyebrows glue feathers or strips of felt above the eyes, and to make a moustache cut a moustache shape out of scrap felt and glue it just above the mouth. To give your mask glasses shape two pipecleaners into circles or rectangles and glue them around the eyes then cut a pipecleaner and glue it between the glasses for the bridge of the glasses.
- 5). Add glitter, sequins or any other decorations to your mask.
- 6). Allow at least 24 hours for the mask to dry if you are using white glue then remove it from the flat surface and make a hole with your hole punch in the center of each side of the mask. Tie a piece of string or elastic through each hole then fit the mask onto your head and tie the pieces of string or elastic in the back of your head to secure it.
