How to Plan an Inauguration Party
- 1). Plan your party at a location where you can watch the president's inauguration during the party.
- 2). Invite your guests to attend the inauguration party. Ask them to dress in the colors of the political party that the president is a part of. Another option would be to invite them to dress up as political figures.
- 3). Decorate your location in the winning party's colors. This would mean red or blue, depending on the president who was elected. Purchase plastic plates, cups and plastic ware in that same color.
- 4). Color the punch that you will be serving in the winning party's color, using food coloring.
- 5). Prepare food that matches the style of food of the new president. For example, if he is from Texas, prepare a variety of barbecued foods.
- 6). Have a talent contest. Ask your guests to stand up and give short inauguration speeches that are two minutes or shorter. Give each guest one vote to determine the winner of the contest.
- 7). Conduct a political guessing game, by asking everyone to chip in $1 for a ticket to guess the date of the first bill the president will sign into law. Obviously, this prize won't be awarded until after the party ends.
- 8). Prepare a cake for dessert. Create the cake with the winning party's political character featured on the cake. This way the winners can have their cake and eat it too.
