How to Make a Twisted Leather Leash
- 1). Gather two strips of leather that are the same length. Each string of leather should be five to six times of the length that the finished leash will be.
- 2). Secure each piece of leather onto the clip by threading the end of the pieces of leather through the back of the clip. Pull the clip to the center of the piece of leather and fold the leather in half. You should now have four strips of leather.
- 3). Lay the leather down on a flat surface.
- 4). Cross the two sections of the leash by holding two strands in one hand, two strands in the other, and crossing the right over the left and forming a cross. Number the pieces of the leash. The two bottom ends are one and two and the two pieces of leather crossed in your right hand and that now face left are three and four.
- 5). Take number two and cross that piece over number four. This should create a loop. Cross number one over number three to create a second loop.
- 6). Weave pieces three and four through the loops. This will make new numbers one through four.
- 7). Hold the new number one and two in one hand and the three or four in the other hand. Pull tight. This will create a barrel knot.
- 8). Repeat the process until the leash is the desired length.
