Live Telephone Answering Service: Beware Of False Promises

Just when government regulating agencies were getting a handle on problems with false advertising and manufacture's broken promises, along comes the Internet.

So now the operative phrase when you're shopping online is 'buyer beware' because you just can't take on face value anything that product manufacturers or service operators say any more, and this also goes for a live telephone answering service.

There's just so many of them now and a large percentage of them are operating overseas or world countries. They're pretty much out of reach of consumer protection laws in western countries and they know this. So just like anything else, if the deal sounds too good to be true - it probably is.

The fact that this type of relatively new call fielding service is becoming increasingly popular with today's business operators doesn't help either. Owners and managers discover that 30% of their callers hang up on answering machines so course they want to switch to a live telephone answering service.

So then if you're one of the many business people today are giving serious consideration to making the switch? What can you do to make sure that you don't get left holding a bag of broken promises after you've signed on the bottom line?

It's simple, and that is that you just need to know the right questions to ask and how to verify the answers they give. So what type of questions do you need to ask to make sure everything is legitimate?

One of the first things you want to know is whether they have backup operators on standby, so calls don't go unanswered during peak hours.

After all if you're looking for a service because you're tired of the 30% hangup rate that comes with an answering machine you'll want services that will be there all the time.

Another thing you'll want to do is to ask if you can listen to recorded phone calls that they have. In this way you can check to see if the operators that they use really are is fluent in English as they say they are.

Then lastly if you're in the market for a specialized service that caters specifically to your business genre, make sure that any service you are considering does just that.

For instance just because a live telephone answering service advertises that they specialize in the medical field doesn't necessarily mean that they'll be able to cover the type of medicine that you practice.
