Army Facilities' Unisex Bathroom Standards
- A unisex bathroom is a square room with a lockable door, housing a private toilet and sink arrangement. Only one person at a time uses the bathroom, as opposed to a bathroom equipped with multiple stalls for groups of people.
- The Department of Defense stipulates that a unisex bathroom on a military base must have disabled access. The room must be large enough for maneuvering a wheelchair within its walls. Additionally, the bathroom must supply a sink, urinal and toilet as its basic construction.
- Unisex bathrooms are also placed in remote building areas of a military base. Because the bathroom is far from large groups of people, a unisex bathroom provides a restroom for the few people who do work or relax in distant structures.
