Directions for an Easy Christmas Centerpiece

    • Christmas is a time for gathering with friends and family to share in the holiday cheer. These gatherings often mean decking the halls with beautiful decorations and sitting around a table to share in a delicious meal. Bring a little festive decoration to your Christmas dinner table with an easy centerpiece.

    Oranges and Cloves

    • Make a quick trip to the grocery store to pick up a couple inexpensive ingredients, but not for Christmas dinner, rather for the centerpiece for your table. Oranges and cloves combine to not only make a visually pleasing centerpiece, but also a pleasantly scented one. Use a small wooden skewer to puncture the skin of the orange in a line all the way around the center of the fruit. Stick the tapered end of whole cloves into the small punctures to decorate the oranges. Arrange a bunch of the clove-embellished oranges on a plate around a pillar candle to complete this simple centerpiece. You also may stick a few of the whole cloves into the pillar candle in a strip design to add even more to the decoration.

    Pine Cones

    • A walk through your yard will provide you with the main ingredient for a simple-to-put-together table decoration. Place a tall no-drip pillar candle in a large glass hurricane. You will want the hurricane large enough to allow for a couple inches of space between the candle and the walls of the container. Arrange small pine cones in the hurricane around the bottom half of the candle. Sprinkle a little glitter of the pine cones to imitate shimmering snow. Throw a couple more pine cones on the table around the base of the hurricane and you are done.

    Glass Ball Ornaments

    • Glass ball ornaments are one of the least expensive kinds of Christmas ornaments, as well as one of the most versatile as they may be used for so many different projects. Choose a selection of glass ball ornaments in traditional Christmas colors, or in the colors that you use to decorate your Christmas tree. Make sure to choose balls in varying sizes. Fill a large clear glass bowl with the ornaments. Arrange a few tealight candles around the ornament-filled bowl to provide light to reflect off them to complete the look.
