    • New York City is home to many club scenes. There are a variety of Goth clubs in New York. Some have enforced dress codes, while others have no dress code at all. Some of the clubs have extensive contact boards and forums on the Internet so club-goers can remain part of the scene online, see what's new and keep in touch with other Goth club-goers. All prices listed are valid as of January 2010.

    Albion

    • Albion presents New York City's largest Goth, Industrial and Dark Wave club scene. It covers all eras of Goth music and also has live acts. The cover charge is $10 to $15. You must be 18 years old to enter the club and 21 years old with a valid I.D. to drink. The club is within walking distance of Penn Station, and is open on Fridays. On Saturdays, from 11:00 p.m. to 4:00 a.m., the clubs Albion and Batcave work to create the premiere Gothic Industrial dance event in New York City, drawing in many people from the Gothic club scene. The cover charge is the same. This event takes place at Downtime, which provides three floors for the event. On the ground floor is the stage and main bar. Two floors above, the DJs have their own DJ stations, bars and dance space, and the top floor is a small lounge area.

    Contempt (at Identity)

    • Contempt is open on the third Saturday of each month from 10:30 p.m. to 4 a.m. The cover charge is $5 to $7. You must be 18 to enter and 21 with a valid I.D. to drink. The club's special, all night, is $6 Stoli vodka cocktails. Contempt is noted as the friendliest Goth scene and has absolutely no enforced dress code.

    The Black Abbey

    • The Black Abbey's doors open every third Sunday of the month at 9 p.m. Beer prices start at $5 and mixed drinks are $7. The Black Abbey features Victorian-era couches, velvet curtains and cobwebbed chandeliers. It has a strict Gothic, fetish and historical period dress code.
