      South Lake Tahoe is the biggest community in the Lake Tahoe region and is located in California. Encompassing a total of 191 square miles, with 42 miles of shoreline in California and 29 miles in Nevada, Lake Tahoe is truly a sight to behold. Nestled among majestic mountains, this astoundingly blue lake offers a number of things to do all year long besides the gambling in nearby Nevada.

Located at the Lake Tahoe Airport, HeliTahoe offers a variety of packages to select from, including aerial photography and filming; basic, mountain and advanced helicopter flight training; helicopter weddings; and numerous scenic tours. Choose from the following tours to get an unbelievable view and lasting memories of your visit: Emerald Bay, casino, Southshore, Sand Harbor, Lake Tahoe and sunset tours. Tours range from 10 minutes up to 60 minutes and from around $50 to over $300 per person with a two-person minimum.

    D.L. Bliss State Park

    • Positioned a few miles north of Emerald Bay and 17 miles south of Tahoe City, D.L. Bliss State Park provides spectacular views of the surrounding area and several things to do. It comprises 1,830 acres and has more than 6 miles of the lake's west shore. Choose from a variety of popular hiking trails throughout the park, take in all of the natural beauty and wildlife or spend time on one of the best beaches on the lake. Camping is available for small or large parties, tents or trailers with many located right on the beach.

    The Tallac Historic Site

    • Step back in time and visit this historical site of the former Tallac Resort that included two massive hotels and a casino, numerous other buildings and the summer homes of some wealthy California families. Explore the many restored buildings and homes, walk among the breathtaking gardens and gaze out at the lake as they did more than 100 years ago. Become involved in numerous events and yearly activities that take place or enjoy a guided or self-guided tour of the area. It is open daily from mid-June through the end of September, on weekends only from May 23 to June 13 and closed in the winter.
