    Jessica Karrat Dance Scholarship Fund

    • U.S. residents attending two- and four-year colleges, dance schools and universities in the United States qualify for Jessica Karrat dance scholarships. The fund also provides support to organizations and to applicants attending seminars and workshops. Funds are awarded directly to an individual's institution, which must be a nonprofit. Financial need is not a requirement. Applicants must show how the training or program benefits the art of dance and contributes to society. All forms of dance are eligible.

    University of South Carolina Dance Scholarship

    • The University of South Carolina awards scholarships to incoming freshmen and undergraduate students majoring in dance. The number of awards and the amounts vary from semester to semester, depending on the number of qualified students and the funds granted to the department. Students must audition and on acceptance must maintain a 2.5 GPA, show technical ability, participate in University of South Carolina Dance Company performances and maintain perfect attendance in coursework and at rehearsals.

    NFDI World Dance Scholarship

    • Members of Northwest Folk Dancers chapters proficient in dance qualify for NFDI scholarships. Scholarships defray the cost of transportation to classes, dance camps and festivals. The sponsors expect scholarship winners to teach folk dance and promote their enthusiasm for ethnic dance forms. Winners must also transcribe the instructions for new dances they learn at workshops or dance camps for the organization's library. Applicants are evaluated for their dance skills, financial need and from recommendations from professionals.

    Coppin State University Dance Program

    • The Bravo! Youth Dance Scholarship program, administered by Coppin State University in Baltimore, Maryland, provides tuition assistance to youths between the ages of 5 1/2 and 17. Children who attend the program must show a natural ability for dance and the intellectual capacity to participate in structured learning. Parents must make a commitment to support their child by signing a contract with the program. Beginning students take introduction to dance and advanced students register for ballet or modern dance. Children participate in a dance recital at the end of the program.
