  The Kamuela Waimea Kohala Airport (MUE) is located on the Big Island of Hawaii and slightly inland from the beaches on the island's western shores. This is a small airport with one runway that services the areas around Kamuela. Visitors to the area have a good selection of hotels that are within 15 minutes of the airport.

• The Hapuna Beach Prince Hotel in Kohala Coast is approximately eight miles from the airport and has 350 rooms that face the ocean along with 36 suites. • The Waimea Country Lodge, located slightly north of the Kamuela Airport, is situated inland from the coast and at the base of Mauna Kea. It is also approximately 15 minutes from the Hapuna Beach. Room accommodations at the lodge include kitchenettes with microwaves, refrigerators stoves and utensils, telephones, shower/tub combinations, daily maid service, high-speed Internet access and cable TV. A working ranch with western-wear stores, and cultural and sporting events including rodeos is within walking distance of the hotel.
