How to Mount Telemark Ski Bindings
- 1). Find the midpoint of your skis and telemark boots. Both should be marked by the manufacturer; otherwise, measure the halfway point of each with a ruler.
- 2). Place the loose toe plate of one binding onto a boot and secure the two together.
- 3). Place the midpoint of the boot with the binding attached on top of the midpoint of a ski.
- 4). Hold the binding steady, and use a felt-tip pen to mark the screw hole spots onto the ski.
- 5). Take the boot and binding off, and use a ruler to make sure the marks are centered along the width of the ski.
- 6). Find a drill bit that has a diameter of about 3/64 inch smaller than the binding screw. This will allow the screw to bite into the ski when screwed in.
- 7). Drill into the ski on the marks, making sure to drill only halfway through the ski.
- 8). Fill the holes with epoxy or a similar adhesive, and quickly screw the toe piece of the binding into place.
- 9). Place the boot into the toe piece and mark where the edge of the boot strikes the ski. This mark will be the farthest point that the heel plate extends back.
- 10
Center the heel plate across the width of the ski, drill the holes, fill them with epoxy and screw the heel plate on. - 11
Repeat on the other ski.
