    • 1). Frost the cupcakes with a bright orange frosting. Place candy corn on the cupcake, to make a jack-o-lantern. Place 2 pieces of candy on the frosting for the eyes, one for the nose and 4 or 5 for the mouth, lightly pushing them into place.

    • 2). Make monster cupcakes by using a purple or yellow frosting and applying it with a star-shaped frosting tip on either a pastry bag or store-bought tube of frosting. Start at the center of the cupcake and stop slightly over the edge to give the illusion of "hair." Repeat until the top of the cupcake looks like a full head of hair. Position 2 white gumdrop eyes and a red gumdrop nose on the frosting. Place a dot of black frosting on the white gumdrops for the pupil of the eye. Cut string licorice, pushing it into the cupcake to make antennae.

    • 3). Use white frosting on the top of the cupcakes. Create a spider on top by positioning a red gumdrop slightly lower than the center of the cupcake. Use black string licorice to make legs. Cut a black gumdrop in half vertically and position it above the red gumdrop to make the head of the spider.

    • 4). Purchase marshmallow crème candy in Halloween shapes, for instance, pumpkins, cats, moons and monsters. Frost the cupcakes in a variety of Halloween colors and top with the candy.

    • 5). Frost the cupcakes with green frosting and make a tombstone using a vanilla sandwich cookie. Pipe R.I.P. on the cookie with frosting and push it halfway down into the cupcake to make a tombstone. Add marshmallow candy crème pumpkins at the base of the tombstone.
