Making friends today is no where near as hard as it used to be.
One of the reasons we find this is true, is due to the availability of connecting with folks over the world wide web! By making friends before we see them, we are able to overcome our judgment of them by our preconceived ideas for how they must look physically, in order for us to believe how they are mentally and emotionally.
I love the idea that, I do not judge who a person is, by what they look like.
However, being totally honest with myself, I know that I am still affected by my visual sense.
I know as we make friends on the web, we are stretching our beliefs and understandings of people.
People begin to see us for who we really are.
You are not what you look like, you are made up of what you look like and ultimately, what you think and believe, or one could say, you are your spirit, dwelling in this physical body.
When you get to know someone before you see them, you have convinced your mind to accept the person for who they are, not what they look like.
You have made conscious decisions to overcome any undesirable reaction to a physical body.
You are choosing to see this person for their value as a human being, not as you would see them were they a building or car! The web offers friendship the way children make friends.
It does not offer judgment by size or sex.
Ever watch children make friends? They don't care how big or little, or girl or boy, all they look for, is whether this person is accepting of them.
Maybe the web is helping all of us to become more like the children we really are! Lets keep on making friends and becoming broader in our views.
