Summer Wedding Invitation Ideas
- Many couples choose to hold their weddings during the summer because of the favorable weather and the variety of venue options, such as a park setting or a beach affair. There are several ways a bride-to-be and groom can make their wedding stand out from the beginning by sending out unique wedding invitations that will make the guests save that wedding's date.
- Many weddings in the summer are held at the beach, whether it is a local strip of sand and surf of an exotic getaway to the Caribbean. Write down the pertinent information for the event, such as the date, time and location, onto a weathered-looking piece of paper. Roll the paper up and place it into an empty glass bottle. Place a cork into the top of the bottle to keep the information safely secured. Decorate the outside of the bottle with ribbons or flowers or make it look as though it has been lost at sea by covering the bottle with seaweed and shells. Hand-deliver these fragile invitations or place them into boxes and ship them in the mail.
- Use classic representations of summer to remind the guests of the warm weather and sunny atmosphere. A less formal wedding could have the invitation printed onto a cardstock or paper that has been cut into a sun, sunflower, palm tree, pair of sandals or any other image that works well with the couple's wedding theme. A more formal affair could use thinner paper that has been embossed or printed with flowers that represent summer, such as roses, calla lilies, carnations or hydrangeas.
- Send the guests a small, inexpensive package that holds all of the attire or accessories they will need to fit into the theme of your beach wedding. For instance, a couple could send their friends a pair of sunglasses, straw hat, sunscreen or a pair of sandals along with a simple invitation that contains all of the necessary information for a beach wedding. A wedding at a park with a picnic setting could have a set of plastic cutlery, a checkered napkin or a hand fan to help the guests prepare themselves for a wedding and reception on the grass.
