How to Send a Thumbnail Image in Twitter

    • 1). Upload your image to a free hosting website, such as TinyPic, TwitPic -- which, in spite of its name, is not officially associated with Twitter -- or Photobucket, if it isn't hosted online already. As of March 2011, it's only possible to link web-based images within Twitter.

    • 2). Copy your thumbnail's URL to your computer's clipboard. Right-click on the image and click "Copy Image URL" or, if you wish to link to a webpage within which the image is embedded, double-click within your browser's "Address Bar" and hold down "Ctrl" and "C."

    • 3). Shorten the image's URL if it's too long to be pasted in alongside the rest of your tweet. Use services like bit.ly or TinyURL, where you simply paste your URL into a field, and are given a shortened URL which re-directs to it within a few seconds.

    • 4). Paste the URL into your tweet by holding down "Ctrl" and "V." Post your tweet to your follows, who can click the link to the image to view it.
