Tamed by the wild African sunset you have to enjoy the magic of the Zambezi on a river boat. Enjoy a sunset cruise with a cocktail in one hand and binoculars in the other, watching hippos and elephants in their natural habitat.
If the Sunset Cruise is too tranquil for your liking, you can step it up with river rafting. The Zambezi below Victoria Falls is one of the most famous stretches of white water. This is a must do activity when in Livingstone. The difficulty of the rafting varies with where in the river you decide to start from. Rapids below the Falls are mostly graded IV and V, but even though the rapids are large, they are not 'technical' - this means that the rafts just have to be positioned properly going into the rapids - so beginners can also join in.
To get your feet back on the ground, you can join the King of the Jungle for a lion walk. This is a unique experience as the lions are walking completely free, with no leashes or collars. You can interact with adolescent lions and learn about conservation issues. Even though this sounds extremely dangerous, three lion handlers and a trip leader make sure that guests are safe. All trip leaders carry a .458 rifle, a communication radio and a first aid kit.
