    • 1). Set the Milwaukee battery on a table.

    • 2). Unscrew the battery's case with a Phillips screwdriver. Depending on the battery, there will be anywhere from six to eight screws.

    • 3). Pry the case off with a flat screwdriver. Remove the large unit now visible. Under the unit, you will see cells connected to platelike pieces of metal.

    • 4). Push the plates off the cells. Turn on a soldering iron and hold it to on the plate. Place the solder over the metal plate. Touch the soldering iron's tip onto the solder to melt the solder onto the plate.

    • 5). Solder every plate inside the battery.

    • 6). Pull the cells out of the battery. Place new ones in the position.

    • 7). Reconnect the plates onto the new cells. Screw the battery case back into position.
