Pet Potty Solutions for a Shrinking World

In the United States alone, there are nearly 75 million pet dogs.
Their owners are living more in cities and within those cities, they're living in smaller homes with smaller yards and condominiums with tiny patios or no outdoor space at all.
Every one of those owners knows what it's like to have to take Sparky out for a walk on a dark, cold, and wet night when they'd rather be snuggled in bed.
What's the alternative? Consider a dog litter box.
DOG LITTER BOX Most pet owners think of litter boxes as something for cats.
Dogs are just as capable of being trained to use a box as a cat, probably more so.
But cats are less apt to track litter through the house.
They're rather fastidious in general, whereas dogs...
not so much.
So the solution needs to keep Sparky from tracking litter all over your carpets.
And just like a cat litter box, you want to be able to control odors.
They usually have a top surface that the dog stands on that is made of a flow-through surface material.
This allows urine to drain away from the surface and away from doggy's feet.
Typical of this type of material is K9Grass?, which is antimicrobial and easy to clean.
It also gives a natural look to the low-profile box, making it look like a flat planter with real grass.
But you can also use gravel or real sod.
Below the cover material you simply line the box with plastic sheeting, pour a layer of regular litter box fill, place the insert tray in the frame, and Sparky is ready to rock.
If the box is outdoors, you can purchase a cover to keep the litter dry.
WHAT ABOUT INDOOR DOGS? Because the dog litter box controls odors, there is no problem with keeping it indoors.
In contrast to puppy pads, the dog litter box is less smelly, less expensive, and has much less impact on the environment than pads.
Dog litter boxes are available in sizes appropriate for all dogs.
There are even models for leg-lifting male dogs to prevent them from missing the target.
Training puppies or adult dogs to use the pet potty may require a little additional time and perseverance.
But dogs do learn to control their bladder and they love to please their masters.
The pet potty is definitely a solution for the 21st century that will make life easier for both pet and pet owner.
