    • 1). Draw a 9-inch circle on the Christmas fabric and cut out for the bottom tier.

    • 2). Stitch a running stitch around the edges of the circle with the green thread and the sewing needle. Pull the gathers together tightly. Tack the end and knot. Snip the thread. Flatten the yo-yo with the gathers on the top and in the center of the circle.

    • 3). Draw 8-, 7-, 6-, 5-, 4- and 3-inch circles for each of the next tiers on the yo-yo Christmas tree decoration. Repeat Step 2 for each of the yo-yos.

    • 4). Glue one end of the wood dowel into the wooden spool using the craft glue. Allow the glue to dry.

    • 5). Poke the top of the dowel through the center of each yo-yo, starting with the largest and ending with the smallest. If the dowel won't poke through the yo-yos easily, snip a small slit in the centers using the scissors.

    • 6). Hot-glue the gold star button to the top of the dowel.

    • 7). Tie a bow with the 1/4-inch red ribbon and glue it at the base of the gold star button.

    • 8). Tie 10 bows using the 1/8-inch red ribbon and glue, randomly, around the yo-yo Christmas tree decoration.

    • 9). Sew the red buttons, randomly, to the yo-yo Christmas tree decoration with the gold thread. Tie the gold thread into a knot on top of the buttons.
