Ohio Grants for Home Insulation
- Ohio receives federal funding for the Home Weatherization Assistance Program, or HWAP. The program is designed to improve energy efficiency and does this by helping homeowners improving the condition of their houses. Grant money can be used for the insulation for walls, basements and attics. Ohio's Community Housing Improvement Program is also federally funded. Money from this program can be used for home insulation.
- Financed through a Universal Service Fund, Ohio's Electric Partnership Program makes grants to help lower high electricity use. One component of the program is weatherization. Homeowners can have insulation installed to lower electrical usage and costs.
- Ohio grants for home insulation are mainly for low-income households, although some are open to middle-income households. Some programs are handled through the state, but most are handled through city and county governments. Deadlines vary for each program, so those interested in Ohio grants for home insulation should visit the state's web site for more information.
