How to Get Cat Pee Out of Fabric

    Carpet or Furniture

    • 1). Mix white vinegar and table salt inside a container or bowl. The Reader's Digest website recommends dissolving approximately 2 tbsp. of table salt in ½ cup of vinegar.

    • 2). Pour the solution onto the fabric covered in cat pee.

    • 3). Scrub the solution into the fabric gently with the brush. Leave the solution on the fabric overnight.

    • 4). Remove the solution with a vacuum cleaner.

    • 5). Inspect the item and repeat steps 1 through 4 if any stains or odors from the cat pee remain.

    Clothes

    • 1). Follow steps 1 through 3 from Section 1. Do this for all clothing items covered in cat pee.

    • 2). Place the items inside the washing machine. Fill the machine with other similar laundry items (for example, towels with towels, clothes with clothes).

    • 3). Add 1 cup of detergent into the machine.

    • 4). Wash and dry the clothes as normal.

    • 5). Inspect the items and repeat the process if any stains or smells from the pee remain.
