How to Unlock Your Truck

Instructions

With Keys

1

Put the key into the keyhole.
2

Rotate the key until the door unlocks.
3

Remove the key and open the door.

With a Coat Hanger

1

Unravel a coat hanger so that it's a long, straight wire. Keep your locking mechanism in mind as well. For example, bend one end of the hanger if you have a push lock. Alternatively, curl the hanger if you have to pull the lock open.
2

Slide a screwdriver between your door and the window. Apply light pressure until you have a sizable gap to slip the hanger into. If you already have a somewhat open window, skip to Step 3.
3

Slip the hanger into the window carefully until it reaches your locking mechanism. Very carefully guide it to the button or pulling lock. When the hanger is in position, carefully unlock the door. It is important to move slow since you need precision and you can easily drop the hanger into your truck.

With a Locksmith

1

Call a nearby locksmith. Alternatively, call a professional company. You might call a locksmithing company with state association or even national coverage, such as the Associated Locksmiths of America.
2

Ask the company for a quote on your services. Any professional and honorable locksmith will remain true to his quote, not changing it once he arrives at the site. As of December 2010, these fees average between $30 and $50.
3

Verify that the locksmith continues his professionalism on-site. For example, any professional locksmith will verify that he is unlocking a car you own and will ask for your registration and license for verification. If for any reason you feel uncomfortable with the locksmith, keep in mind that you have the right to refuse his service and to ask for another locksmith.
