    • 1). Brush or comb your wig, starting from the hair tips and working upwards, to remove any snags or tangles.

    • 2). Fill a sink with cold water; add 1 tsp. wig shampoo and 1 tsp. baking soda. Agitate the water to ensure that the baking soda and shampoo are completely dispersed.

    • 3). Turn the wig inside out and put it into the sink. Gently move and agitate it so that all the fibers become wet and coated with the shampoo and baking soda. Continue to move it in the water for approximately one minute.

    • 4). Scrub the wig cap gently, ensuring the shampoo-and-soda mix is thoroughly absorbed.

    • 5). Soak the wig in the water for approximately 15 minutes. Remove the wig and drain the sink. Rinse the sink well to ensure that all shampoo-and-soda residue has been removed. Refill the sink with cold water.

    • 6). Place the wig into the clean water and agitate it to rinse away the detergent. Empty the sink and refill again with fresh, clean cold water. Repeat the rinsing process until all the shampoo and soda have been removed. Drain the sink.

    • 7). Refill the sink and add 1 or 2 tsp. wig conditioner. Soak the wig for a few minutes then rinse it to remove any residue.

    • 8). Place the wet wig onto a towel and dab it dry, without rubbing, using a second dry towel.

    • 9). Place the wig onto a wig stand, spray with wig conditioner and allow it to dry naturally in the air, usually overnight. Shake the wig, brush it gently and it is ready to wear.
