How to Make Tile Pictures

    • 1). Choose your image. It might be a favorite photograph, an image cut from a calendar or magazine or a picture you have printed out on thin card. Trim the image to fit on your tile.

    • 2). Rub the surface of the tile with coarse sandpaper to scratch the surface, then coat both the surface of the tile and the back of the image with a thin layer of decoupage glue.

    • 3). Stick the image onto the tile, smoothing out any air bubbles with your fingertips and paying particular attention to the edges of the image to make sure they are completely stuck.

    • 4). Paint a thin layer of decoupage glue over the surface of the tiled image, also taking the glue over the edges of the tile. Allow the glue to set, then add another coat if you would like a thicker effect. Let the glue dry completely before moving the tile.

    • 5). Drill two holes in the top of your tile picture and thread a hanging loop through the holes, or if you prefer not to drill holes, you can hang the tile using a plate hanger.
