How to Build a Washer Board Game Set
- 1). Cut both ends of each of your 2 by 4 boards to a 45-degree angle, so that the sides of the box fit together standing up on their edges with an outside length of 16 inches and an inside length of 13 inches. If you prefer not to make angular cuts, simply cut 4 of the boards to 13 inches long and leave the remaining 4 boards alone.
- 2). Assemble 4 of the 2 by 4 boards together to form a square, with the cut angled edges together.
- 3). Glue the boards together with wood glue.
- 4). Screw each corner together with 3 screws, 2 going through one direction and 1 going through the other direction between them.
- 5). Glue one of the squares of plywood to the bottom of the box.
- 6). Screw the base to the sides with 4 screws, one on each side.
- 7). Find the center of the box by drawing a line between each corner to form an X.
- 8). Apply wood glue to the bottom end of one of the PVC pipes and press it firmly into the center of the box.
- 9). Repeat the process for building second box.
- 10
Allow the glue to dry completely, at least 1 hour. - 11
Paint, seal or decorate the wood however you desire and let dry. - 12
Lay the paper over one of the boxes and trace the inner frame of the wood as well as the outer edge of the PVC circle. - 13
Cut out the tracing, including the inner circle, to create a paper template of the bottom of the box. - 14
Use the paper template to cut out a piece of outdoor carpet or turf. - 15
Place the carpet or turf in the bottom of the box. If desired, cut out a 4 inch circle to place inside the PVC pipe.
