Personal Gym Or Workout Program at Home?

103 5
Do I get a personal gym or a gym membership at 40? I've found that the last 11 years have taken an especially high toll on my body, especially my abs and lower back.
I have been an avid rock climber since I was 15 years old and have gotten to climb in some of the most amazing places.
I've led many climbing groups over the years both for fun and professionally - and have been in pretty decent shape even up to my 40th birthday.
It was during my 13,770 foot climb of the Grand Teton back in 1998 that I climbed with a good friend of mine, Steve, who was at that time 40 years old.
Before taking the trip, keeping in mind I was still in my twenties I thought, "Man, how can he be in such great shape at his age and is he going to be able to even keep up with me?" He invited me on that arduous climb after we had climbed indoors mostly but I knew he was an excellent climber.
It was at the University of Wisconsin's Rock climbing and weight lifting gym where I was the climbing instructor where I agreed to attend the trip.
I trained for a solid month and a half (hard) and dropped about 30 lbs.
I was pretty ripped for that climb.
But to my dismay, I still did not have a six pack from doing all those crunches! I was strong in my abs, but I thought it was just not possible to get that six pack.
I was in much better shape 11 years ago than now and that climb kicked my butt even in my spry twenties.
Now, 11 years of physical labor has given me lower back problems and I find myself gaining belly fat from lack of exercise.
Since I made a commitment for the climb next year, I am choosing to get back into the same great shape I was in when I climbed the Grand Teton 11 short years ago.
To be able to climb the Grand Teton at any age, you need among other things, a strong core.
Carrying a pack with 60+ lbs of gear up 13,770 feet takes balance and a strong set of core training for abdominal and back muscles.
You might not have a mountain to climb in your near future, but I know you are sick of your tight-fitting jeans, lack of energy, your flabby stomach, and the overall lack of energy and motivation this all perpetuates.
So, where to start? This article is dedicated to those of you who like me, want to have a flat stomach and strong abs and are sick of not knowing how to get ripped abs.
In this lens you will find several secrets I'm currently using to get my core ripped again using smartly targeted exercises and easy-to-follow nutrition tips I've found.
I tried to get flat and ripped abs for years but failed.
During that month and a half of training for my climb, I was doing an average of 100 crunches three times a day and did 40 minute stair climber routines daily and I still did not get a six pack! I wasted hours doing sit-ups and crunches and even used my aunt's ab rocker (remember those?) without getting a six pack.
Although I was in great shape, I still lacked that elusive six pack core I wanted for all my hard work! I've been working out with a friend of mine lately and he said something only a close friend can, "You know, for all the working out you do, you never look much different.
" What could I say? He was right! I knew I had to change my program because mine evidently wasn't cutting the mustard, or my abs.
This is because I was not following a proven program at all.
I did a little of this and a little of that, and then take a break, and lose any meager progress I'm getting.
Is this the familiar spot you're in? I did research on fitness anytime my abs routine got boring which equals a lot of research.
I was looking for variations on abs, 6 pack ab routines, abdominal exercises etc.
and I kept coming across Mike Geary's program.
His is now the highest ranked abdominal program in the world with well over 650,000 thousand subscribers in 150 countries.
So, why is this program is so highly used and highly rated? I compared it to 5 other programs that are very hot sellers.
Geary's ab program includes: 1.
Abs exercises in different degrees of difficulty 2.
Nutrition Information 3.
Super effective tips and abs workout techniques 4.
