Discovering What Causes Infertility

Understanding what causes infertility is the inability psychologically or biologically, to conceive, even after more than a year of trying, whilst using no form of birth control.
When a woman is unable to carry a pregnancy to full term, this is often referred to infertility.
Infertility can be caused by many things.
Infertility is caused by female concerns in more than two-thirds of all reported cases of infertility.
Sperm irregularity or other unidentifiable factors only account for the balance.
What causes infertility in woman? There is usually very good evidence as to what has caused the infertility, whether it is hormonal imbalance, or reproductive organs not working as they should.
Physical trauma like an operation can place stress on the body and this can have an effect on fertility.
Global statistics would tell us that (PID) Pelvic Inflammatory Disease is the worst contributor to what causes infertility.
Generally this disease affects the pelvis and the reproductive organs.
Conception can be difficult when there is a weakness in the structural integrity of your organs, caused by the inflammation.
If that was not bad enough, prolonged exposure to the condition can lead to blood poisoning, and ectopic pregnancy.
If you have ovarian or hormonal problems, these could have been caused by earlier thyroid or adrenal gland.
One of the downsides is that experiencing problems with these two organs can produce increased levels of prolactin.
This hormone prolactin can prevent ovulation, and increase breast milk production.
You also need to be careful of getting a pituitary tumor, which can result if levels of prolactin are too high in the body.
Previous abdominal and vaginal surgeries may also have left scar tissue, which is impacting, on your ability to conceive.
The damaged areas may cause problems for the transfer of eggs from the ovaries on to the fallopian tube, and uterus.
As a result of frequent abortions, the uterus can be completely blocked by scar tissue, stopping any connection between the sperm and the egg cells.
Other chemicals like some antibiotics, anti-inflammatory drugs and anti-depressants, can impact negatively on conception.
Healthy mature egg cells are released as a result of having the right amount of estrogen in the system.
These drugs can indirectly lower these levels.
Do men suffer from infertility? To men, the leading contributor to what causes infertility is the result of sperm that are not doing what they should be doing.
Usually poor quality sperm or a low sperm count is the reason.
When the sperm is slow-moving or moving in the wrong direction, there is reason to suspect the sperm quality.
Making transportation difficult, some cells can be abnormally shaped.
One reason for a low sperm count is that the testes have not developed correctly, and do not properly descend.
Testes that have not developed and descended correctly are one reason that a guy can have a low sperm count.
These things can be congenital as well.
This means that the testes will remain inside the body cavity.
Production of potent sperm cells can be impaired with constant chronic exposure to metals.
It could be that the chemicals affect the structural balance of the healthy cells, creating something a lot different and harder to control.
There are many possible answers to the question of "what causes infertility?" There is no argument in trying to pinpoint whether it is a male or female thing, as it affects both sexes.
Don't lose heart if you have already been diagnosed as infertile.
In today's world there are a number of natural treatments for infertility.
